Spring Into Dental Care Action!
With the Spring season beginning, many people will be doing some form of spring cleaning. While you’re organizing shelves, dusting the fans and raking up all the leaves, don’t forget you bathroom counter! Here are 4 dental hygiene items to include on your spring cleaning plan:
- Replace Old & Worn Toothbrushes
Are the bristles on your toothbrush frayed and worn down? Time to replace it! In addition to a not cleaning teeth as effectively, an old worn-out toothbrush can also host bacteria and other infectious agents. If you had a cold over the winter months, you could potentially get re-infected from a contaminated toothbrush. - Make Sure You Have Plenty Of Floss
Typically, you will use about 18 inches of floss per flossing session if you are following directions for recommended use. If you are flossing daily, that can add up to around 45 feet of floss per month. Be sure to stay stocked up so you don’t run out and don’t disrupt your good dental heath routines! - Check Your Mouthwash Expiration
Believe it or not, most mouthwash does have a shelf life which is indicated on the bottle. Expired mouthwash may not only taste worse, but it may also be less effective. Restock with some fresh mouthwash. - Schedule A Dentist Appointment
Regular dentist appointments and cleanings are a must for good oral health. Spring is a great time to get a regular dental check-up because it is easier to avoid schedule conflicts with vacation plans. Schedule and appointment with Wurzbach Parkway Family Dental before you make your Spring Break plans so that any dental issues can be caught early before they become bigger (and more expensive) problems later!
